Lantern

Dimly lit

Light about

To burn out

Hands

Blindly press upon cave wall

Searching

Pleading for my North Star

Sleeping in the dark

Awaking in the dark

Dreaming of a path

An arc

Connecting

Beginning and end

Intersecting

I sit

With lantern lit

To catch a glimpse

Some sense

Some semblance

Of what could be

Exit or entrance

Could such idle time

With no clear path

Be a gift divine

Not punishment rath?

For along the way

Presents received

The presence

Of other lantern holders

With quietly lit embers too

Also searching

For light anew

Perhaps

The North Star

I've searched for

Isn't exhausted in the sky

Out of reaching

Grasping high

But in the Lanterns

When joint together

Burn Fire

Shine Sun

Light star endeavor

Lanterns

Joint together

We awake

Alongside the Embers

No more do I dream

Of the end of this path

But rather

Cherish the arc

No more do I wish

This time bypass

Lanterns held high

Embers gently lit

I cherish this time

The present is a gift

We create our own Sun

North Star

Fire burning bright

For many Lanterns together

Outshine

The darkest night
