Palm to palm

I hope

The Universe is kind

And when we find freedom

Your hand is in mine

Palm to palm

Creates such a force

Pushing not against

But into

A single life's course

Two roads did merge

A quiet, peaceful path

To roam, to rest

Us weary wanderers

My head on your chest

Such a new path is lovely

But over time

Weeds, rocks, mud appear

Deterring away

Your palm from mine

Yet weeds still flower

They too have blooms

Daisies and dandelions

Offer beauty anew

Rocks can be harsh

Jagged may there edges be

But rocks can protect

And provide solid foundation

For growing trees

Mud can stain

And sink souls in

Or it can glue and bolster

A supporting home

Housing hearts within

Our aging path

Grows more lovely in my eyes

It reminds me of everything

We've overcome

Here in this lifetime

The weeds, rocks, and mud

Are in my mind

Just like the flowers, the trees

Such a life we've intertwined

Our palms always find each other

No matter the storm

Moonsoon or hurricane

May they form

Palm to palm

We create such a force

Pushing not against

But into

Each other's life course

Two roads did merge

Our enduring ageless path

We shall leave for others

Our legacy, our aftermath

For when the Universe

Determines

We shall take new form

We'll return to the ground

Palm to palm

Nourishing

Our beautiful path reborn
