What do you say to a world on fire?

What do you say

To a world on fire

Quietly pray

Deny and wish away

What good is a voice

That’s left in a throat

Never used and deep down drowned

Silenced soprano note

A small whistle

A screaling scream

What good are these

If we cut off ours ears

And deny the sound

Of what so obviously is there

Did our ancestors

Invent fire then detach

Or was it the kindle that wielded us

Sacrificial match

A world on fire

A world on ice

A world of metal

Elemental slice

This world on fire

I know you’re suffocating

I see it in the atmosphere

Inside we shelter

Yet you’re forced polluted air

Why is it

Earth

Jealousy

Balance

Sickness

Money

Peace

Share the same color?

A world on fire

I have hope

Our Earthly plight

Fire to signal to sun and moon

Perhaps Hellfire

Is actually Heaven’s light
